The Michigan First Movement declares Farm Dominance as a strategic priority: making Michigan the most productive, resilient, and prosperous agricultural state in the nation, while protecting generational family farms and putting food sovereignty first.

Michigan will become America’s premier agricultural powerhouse through expanded production, innovation, reduced bureaucracy, and strong protection of family farms. This dominance will create jobs, lower food costs, generate export revenue, and strengthen rural communities for generations.

1. Regulatory Relief and Farm Freedom

• One-for-One Regulatory Reduction: For every new agricultural regulation, two existing ones must be repealed.

• Right-to-Farm Strengthening: Expand protections for family farms against nuisance lawsuits, restrictive zoning, and activist harassment.

• Streamlined Permitting: Fast-track approvals for farm expansions, processing facilities, and infrastructure while maintaining environmental stewardship.

2. Production Expansion and Innovation

• All-of-the-Above Agriculture: Support traditional row crops, livestock, dairy, specialty crops (cherries, apples, blueberries), and emerging sectors like hemp, aquaculture, and vertical farming.

• Research and Tech Incentives: Fund and incentivize Michigan-based research in precision agriculture, soil health, drought-resistant crops, and advanced genetics, with results prioritized for Michigan family farms.

• Value-Added Processing: Tax credits and grants for on-farm and local processing facilities to keep more economic activity in Michigan instead of shipping raw commodities out of state.

• Farmland Preservation Priority: Ban foreign ownership (especially CCP-linked entities) of Michigan agricultural land. Create incentives and tax breaks for multi-generational family farms to keep land in production.

• Anti-Consolidation Measures: Limit corporate and out-of-state megafarm dominance that squeezes family operations.

4. Market Access and Economic Strength

• Buy Michigan First: Mandate state institutions, schools, and prisons to prioritize Michigan-grown food when feasible.

• Export Dominance: Aggressive promotion of Michigan agricultural exports while protecting against unfair foreign dumping and subsidies.

• Rural Economic Hubs: Develop processing, distribution, and agritourism centers in small towns to create high-wage jobs and keep young people in rural Michigan.

5. Labor and Trade Protections

• American Worker Priority: Strict enforcement of immigration law on farms, no illegal labor. E-Verify mandatory. Support legal guest worker programs only when they do not displace American workers.

• Fair Trade Enforcement: Oppose trade deals that harm Michigan farmers. Demand reciprocity and crack down on foreign subsidies and dumping.
