Stopping Foreign Meddling and Rogue Spy Games on Michigan Soil

Zero Tolerance for Foreign Influence or Rogue IC Operations in Michigan.

Statement of Principles 

Michigan First will not tolerate foreign governments, governments in waiting, political parties, political operatives, foreign lobbyists or agents of foreign entities controlling, owning, or disproportionately influencing Michigan’s politics, economy or communities—and we will not tolerate rogue or otherwise unaccountable elements of the intelligence community spying on, manipulating, or intimidating American citizens in the state of Michigan.

The governments and militaries of foreign adversaries, along with unaccountable and unscrupulous elements of the intelligence community, have targeted Michigan for subversion, economic warfare, and manipulation: interfering in our elections, starting business with strings attached, buying up critical infrastructure and land, attacking our values and interests, and generally treating Michigan as a hostile target to be attacked at will.

Michigan First will work with patriots across the state, including sheriffs, election officials, constitutional lawyers, prosecutors, activists, journalists, business owners, and concerned citizens to expose these threats, shut them down, and make sure that Michigan is a state run by Michiganders for Michiganders.

Foreign Agents 

Foreign governments, especially the Chinese Communist Party, have targeted Michigan for many reasons: purchasing or leasing land near military bases, investing in critical infrastructure, establishing partnerships with Michigan universities and researchers while stealing their intellectual property, and using influence campaigns connected to politicians and institutions to curry favor and further their political and economic agendas in Michigan and the United States. These same foreign governments have also targeted Michigan for political subversion, disinformation, economic warfare, and social manipulation, often working with allies or proxies like foreign lobbyists to bypass suspicion and maximize influence.

Elements within the Federal Intelligence Community: have been accused of going rogue, abusing their power, or acting with impunity in order to spy on and harass American citizens in Michigan; operating “foreign policy” by targeting political opponents, censored speech on social media, or otherwise violating our rights and freedoms with a wink from the Oval Office; leaking private information, sensitive government documents, and other materials that influence or overturn elections or embarrass political opponents; and conducting surveillance operations that bypass constitutional requirements and judicial oversight by citing a need for “national security” or to protect “intelligence sources and methods.”

We have had it. 

Michigan First will be the vanguard for the nation in stopping these threats, and we will win.

Our Plan 

Zero Tolerance for Foreign Influence 

Ban Foreign Ownership of Strategic Land: Prohibit adversarial nations (China, Iran, Russia, etc.) from purchasing farmland, property near military bases, or other critical infrastructure. Require immediate divestment of existing holdings with stiff penalties for non-compliance.

Block Foreign Money in Politics: Ban all contributions, directly or indirectly, from foreign entities, lobbyists, or pass-through organizations to Michigan campaigns, PACs, or ballot initiatives. Require full disclosure and levy severe fines for violations.

Protect Universities and Research: End programs that rely on foreign funding for research if the funding comes with any strings attached. Audit all partnerships with adversarial countries, protect intellectual property and research from foreign theft, and prioritize American students and researchers.

Secure Supply Chains and Infrastructure: Prohibit foreign ownership or control of Michigan ports, energy grids, water systems, and telecommunications companies. Prioritize American or domestic companies for state contracts.

Counter Foreign Propaganda: Expose and defund any programs or NGOs that push foreign propaganda or political agendas in our schools, media or communities.

Zero Tolerance for Rogue Intelligence Community Operations 

State-Level Oversight and Bans: Prohibit unauthorized federal surveillance of Michigan citizens without explicit state judicial approval. Create a Michigan Intelligence Oversight Commission with subpoena power to investigate rogue operations and potential abuse.

Protect Free Speech from IC Collusion: Ban federal agencies from coordinating with social media companies to censor or flag Michigan residents’ speech. Defend First Amendment rights against “disinformation” pretexts and demand Big Tech accountability for IC influence.

Whistleblower Pipeline: Create secure channels and whistleblower protections for IC members who expose illegal surveillance, election interference attempts, or abuse of power against Michiganders.

Defund and Restrict: Withhold any state cooperation or resources from federal agencies that engage in unconstitutional activities within Michigan. Demand full transparency on any IC presence or operations in the state of Michigan.Citizen Defense Fund. Support legal aid for Michiganders who are the target of rogue investigations or surveillance, so that no patriot is left alone against federal overreach.

No foreign influence in our state government, our politics, or our communities. No unaccountable rogue intelligence community operations in our state or against our citizens. If it can’t be stopped at the federal level, it will be stopped in Michigan.

If anyone thinks Michigan soil is not under attack or being used against our national interests, they are wrong. If anyone thinks the intelligence community is not abusing its power, acting outside the law, or spying on innocent citizens and political enemies of the current administration, they are willfully ignorant. And if anyone thinks these threats are going to stop on their own or without determined patriots taking action, they have no business in Michigan.
