Crushing Corruption, Restoring Confidence in Our Elections

Every aspect of the Michigan First platform is built on a foundation of anti-corruption and election integrity. We will expose and eliminate corruption at every level of government and we will end election fraud with the highest standards of transparency, citizen oversight, and accountability so Michiganders have elections they can trust that are free from political games and outside interference.

Michigan families want elections they can believe in—elections free from fraud, foreign influence, or insider manipulation. Michiganders have watched over the years as questions were raised about our voting processes: from inconsistent absentee ballot handling in 2020, questions about outdated voter rolls and purges, to the unsolicited mass mailing of ballot applications during the height of the pandemic. Despite multiple audits and investigations including the Republican-led Senate report that ultimately showed no widespread fraud, public trust has been damaged by real concerns of clerical errors, procedural changes, and court battles at the national level like the words of President Trump and former Attorney General Bill Barr. Michigan First calls for real reforms now to restore trust: mandatory photo voter ID, regular purging of inaccurate voter rolls, in-person auditing of results, and chain-of-custody tracking of every ballot.

We also take aim at the endemic corruption that has infiltrated Lansing and beyond. From the suspicious state grants with taxpayer funds under Governor Whitmer and her administration that seemed to reward political donors including a notable $20 million earmark to a campaign donor’s nonprofit which then faced embezzlement allegations to recent criticisms of Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s election process (ordering all local election clerks to “stop using machines that allow election workers to remove ballots for counting” which was blocked by a federal judge ruling Benson’s office was “making it up as they go along,” also court battles over her office’s unwillingness to clean voter rolls) to outside interests like billionaire George Soros pouring money into ballot initiatives and Democrats across Michigan including his support of Prop 3 on abortion rights and in the race for secretary of state as well as 2020 polling from Public Policy Polling that showed his name was in the top five choices among Democrats when asked to name a vice presidential pick for Joe Biden. Even notable elected officials like Senator Elissa Slotkin have been under fire for their handling of campaign funds and questions on judicial impartiality in our courts are at an all-time high.

The Michigan First Patriot Community will not rest until we see the truth about any and all conflicts and hidden corruption revealed and reported, and will call for independent investigations into any and all allegations—through ongoing audits, whistleblowers, and patriot-led accountability. We won’t stop shining light in every dark corner until every piece of the puzzle is on the table and we have the full story.

Key initiatives and actions include:

Citizen Oversight Boards to empower patriots to watch the votes in real time.

Support for full forensic audits when justified to settle any outstanding questions.

Ban on Dark Money influence in politics through full disclosure of all sources of political funding.

Court Reform to clear up conflicts and partisan rulings in our judicial system to ensure justice is equal and impartial.

Zero Tolerance policy for fraud with stiff penalties for any irregularities that are proven, from ballot harvesting to any kind of machine tampering or vote rigging.

We are not going to dwell on the past, but rather turn the page so we can make sure the future is secure and something Michiganders can believe in.
